Yes, on this thread I am finally making a post about A lot Like Birds. If you’ve ever heard this band, then you know that they are really progressive and are starting to get very well acclaimed within the hardcore scene. The reason this has been happening is mostly because of the fact that they have Kurt Travis (former vocalist for Dance Gavin Dance!) in their band now, but before that they had Michael Franzino doing vocals and he does a great job. Since this thread is one that gives free and legal albums away, a lot like birds put their first album out as a temporary free download on their bandcamp: http://alotlikebirds.bandcamp.com/album/plan-b.
The song I put as a sampler to the album is my personal favorite song on the cd ‘When the Wolf is Counting Sheep.” It is truly an impressive track, it goes across all kinds of styles, from a Fall of Troy-esque intro, to a traditional skramz feel, all the way to a saxophone solo that reminds me a lot of bands like Mars volta or streetlight manifesto, and the song just changes even more from there. Truly it is a great song with some great lyrics, and a very progressive feel. I highly recommend this album, and this is only for a limited time, so do it fast.
Posted one of Sword Swallower’s songs earlier this year, and now the Chicago-native band have released their debut EP for FREE. Whoa! An added bonus, the EP is incredible!

This is another band who is giving away their album for free. These guys are good for people who like stuff such as Saosin, Secret & Whisper, Braid, Emarosa, etc. They have a deeper voiced singer than a lot of these groups, but i still consider them to be similar, they have a very soul sounding singer who has a great voice. Honestly I don’t even feel anymore. I apoogize if I am making any inconvenience to somebody’s day. But I have to put this out. I have been feeling this pain for 6 months. I just want it to stop. I’ve tried to disguise it with pure ecstasy but it isn’t working. I’ve tried putting music in front of my tears but they won’t stop long enough.
Nothing works, I’m not going to be suicidal, I’m better than that, and I already went through that trip. I just want to feel again, I want to enjoy life for more than an hour, I want to finally leave this period of only ever having highs and lows. I want to have a middle ground that will last.
I now will tell you that I am going to shut up about that for a while. I just wanted to get some things off my back, and I am not wanting to go into detail. So I guess I’ll go happy again
